Low sugar candy swaps for your child’s Halloween favorites

Oct 21, 2019

It’s that time of year again! If your kids haven’t already brought home some sort of sweet treat this month, the momentous day is not too far away. In the mound of candy, your child is sure to dump on your living room floor, there are bound to be some treats that are horrible for their teeth. That’s why we’ve outlined a few smart swaps for some of the worst cavity-inducing treats.

Gummy bears – or anything gummy, really.

A simple swap for anything gummy related is Smart Sweets – a low sugar gummy candy sweetened with Stevia. This brand makes Sweet Fish, Sour Blast Buddies, Fruit Gummy Bears, and Sour Gummy Bears. I bet your child won’t even know the difference either!

Candy apple on a stick

Instead of that sugary, sticky, messy treat on a stick, try apple slices and Walden’s caramel dip. Don’t ask us how they do it but this dip is fat-free, sugar-free, and calorie-free!

Peanut butter + chocolate candy

Reese’s makes sugar free peanut butter cup miniatures. With no sugar and 20% fewer calories, this perfect bite-sized snack tastes just like the original!

Crunchy candy bars

Craving something crunchy? Russel Stover makes a number of sugar-free candies, one being Peanut Butter Crunch. These candies made with Stevia are truly enjoyable

If your child has a favorite candy, chances are there is a healthier sugar-free option! Stock up on Amazon before the holiday and be ready for a candy swap!
